The Chicago Bears are speaking out against a commercial which does not portray their defense in the best light. San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a nationally running commercial for Nike in which he demolishes the Chicago Bears defense. Tommie Harris, who is the only actual Bears player to appear in the commercial, said that he felt duped, not realizing the commercial would portray Tomlinson as a “superstar.” Harris added, “he is (a superstar), but not against our defense.” Harris said that he would “fix it when we play against them.”
Ricky Manning, Jr. said that the commercial got him “jacked up” and “excited” and he is looking forward to playing the Chargers. Alex Brown stated that Tomlinson is very capable, but he added, “I would like to think that it would be a little harder than the commercial. Just a little bit. Maybe he runs over three or four of us. Not the whole defense.â€
The Chicago Bears will play the San Diego Chargers in their first game of the season on September 9th.
