The Chicago Bears announced this week that normally third string quarterback Kyle Orton will be the starter for the next game. Rex Grossman is, of course, out with an injury, but there is nothing physically wrong with Brian Griese. So why the switch?

After leaving the game against the Denver Broncos yesterday on the cart, things did not look too good for Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson. Today the Bears confirmed the worst and announced that Benson will have season ending surgery.
Thankfully my prediction of a boring game between the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos did not come true. In fact, the Bears OT win over the Broncos was probably the most exciting game this season.
Luckily for Chicago Bears quarterback Brian Griese, the injury that caused him to leave Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders is not serious. The bad news is that it may cost him his starting job anyway.
The list of injured Chicago Bears is growing. The number of starters that either did not practice Wednesday, or who had limited participation, is astonishing. This after the Bears already lost Mike Brown for the season.
The Chicago Bears did not show up to play last night and lost a disastrous game 34-10 to the Dallas Cowboys. At halftime the game was tied 3-3, but in the second half, the offense could not do much of anything and the defense struggled after several key injuries.
Despite missing his first game in 11 seasons, punter Brad Maynard expects to be back for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. He said that he “absolutely” will play Sunday.
The Chicago Bears won their first game of the season with a 20-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Soldier Field.
The entire NFL community is reeling over the catostrophic spinal cord injury suffered by Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett. The injury could leave him paralyzed. |
