The Chicago Bears announced this week that normally third string quarterback Kyle Orton will be the starter for the next game. Rex Grossman is, of course, out with an injury, but there is nothing physically wrong with Brian Griese. So why the switch?
Thankfully my prediction of a boring game between the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos did not come true. In fact, the Bears OT win over the Broncos was probably the most exciting game this season.

Rex Grossman put the quash on rumors that he had asked to be traded from the Chicago Bears. His agent also denied such rumors, saying that Rex had not mentioned anything to him about it, so it must not be true.
In announcement that really surprised no one, today Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith officially announced that Brian Griese will be taking over the quarterbacking duties this Sunday versus the Detroit Lions. |
